Autumn Term 2007

Dear Parents

The busiest time of the school year is upon us once again and to help you keep track of all that is happening at Dagnall Under Fives over the next few weeks, we have added some important dates to the website. To access them please click on our calendar page. Please take particular note of our arrangements for the last day of term.

Our Christmas concert is fast approaching with the first performance being shown on Tuesday 18th December after weeks of preparation. I would like to ask parents, if it would be possible for children to come to playgroup ready for the presentations on the 18th and 19th December wearing a green or red shirt decorated like a Christmas tree. It would also be good if children could also wear black or brown trousers. It would be extremely helpful to ensure that we are ready on time to display each show.

At this point I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you again at the start of the Spring Term.

Yours Sincerely

Ann Tobin

Summer Term 2007

Dear All,

This month we say goodbye to Debbie our much loved deputy carer who has been an indispensable member of the team for the last six years. We thank Debbie for all her hard work and dedication to Dagnall Under Five's and wish her all the best in Stevenage.

As always the summer term is very busy and this year is no exception, we have lots of news and some dates for your diary.

Tina has joined the playgroup team as deputy in place of Debbie, and Kerensa has joined in place of Fiona who will be leaving us in the summer.

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at the following topics:

Mini Beasts: 4th - 15th June

Around The World: 18th - 29th June

Transport: 2nd - 13th July

Ready For School: 16th - 20th July

For all the latest Dagnall Under Five's news and events, please see our Calendar and News Page.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Yours Sincerely

Ann Tobin

Autumn Term 2006

Dear Parents

Welcome back to playgroup and the autumn term. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all, my name is Ann Tobin and I am the new Dagnall Under Fives Leader. I have been a qualified nursery nurse for 22 years. For the past 18 years I have been an assistant nursery supervisor in a small private nursery in West London.

My husbands job relocated in March so we decided to make the move to Wellhead.

Over the next few weeks I hope to have a chat with you all but it will take me a little while to get to know you and your children.

As you know we usually cover several themes during each terms. The theme for our first two weeks starting Monday 11th September is ourselves. We will be investigating subjects such as body parts, height, growth, healthy eating and hygiene.

We will also be concentrating on the letter A and the number One. It would be hugely beneficial if you could extend your childs learning by encouraging them to bring in a item relating to our theme and/or the letter and number of the week. For example, one apple. We will use these items for a group discussion at circle time.

If you have any questions regarding playgroup please feel free to approach myself, any member of staff or phone us and do look out for new notices posted on the Village Hall door.

Thank You for your continued support

Yours Sincerely

Ann Tobin
